Hiring Our Heroes Hosts Virtual Event for High-Tech Skills

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Hiring Our Heroes, along with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Accenture, will host a free virtual event, Veteran Employment Through Technology Education Courses (VET TEC) Summit at 1 p.m. ET on October 27th. VET TEC is a program that trains veterans to develop high-tech skills to prepare them for careers in technology. Sessions are also focused on employers in the tech industry who will have a chance to learn how the VET TEC program connects them to a pipeline of veteran talent. The summit will include informational sessions explaining how this federally funded program upskills a demographic that will strengthen and diversify the technology sector’s workforce. There is also the opportunity for virtual networking and employer connections.
Dr. Paul Lawrence, Under Secretary for Benefits at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will provide the keynote remarks.
