Elmatica to Sponsor and Speak at Trade Compliance Nordic
April 6, 2017 | ElmaticaEstimated reading time: 1 minute
As an ITAR and DFARS compliant partner for securing printed circuits to the defense industry, Elmatica is joining forces with C5 Communications as speaker and sponsor to the Trade Compliance Nordic conference in Copenhagen this month.
"Transparency is one of our core values. Combined with over 25 years experience in the defense industry, this enables us to be an optimal partner at the Trade Compliance Nordic. We want to face the challenges of new export control, sanctions and regulations, by sharing our knowledge and experience to increase cooperation on compliance," says Elmatica CEO Didrik Bech.
The Trade Compliance Nordics has been specifically designed for trade compliance officers and in-house counsel operating in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The event is the latest addition of C5's renowned Global Trade Compliance events series, and is a unique conference designed for trade compliance professionals.
"We know that procurement and sales in the defense industry can and will result in numerous challenges related to compliance, especially if one focus on export control rather than import control. We like to say 'compliance in, is compliance out'. We consider it our responsibility, as the world's most experienced broker of printed circuits, to provide our partners with correct information regarding regulations," says Vidar Olsen, CPO of Elmatica.
Tackle It Now or Face the Problem Later
Elmatica will participate as an Executive Sponsor at the Trade Compliance Nordic, and CTO Andreas Lydersen is speaker at the event. He will address the practical everyday challenges of speaking the same technical language, in a compliance supply chain.
"By focusing on 'compliance in and compliance out in the supply chain' and agreeing on simple standards such as country of origin, one can promptly remove significant challenges in relation to reducing approval costs and administration," says Lydersen. "As we all adapt to a digital supply chain, we have a choice in regard to compliance. Do we want to tackle the problem of the lack of a common 'language of reference' together now, or face the consequences later? By establishing a common language – manufacturers, customers and competitors together – have the possibility to automate the exchange of product information, and thus compliance information. It will save us all time and money; but more importantly, it will turn compliance into a possibility rather than a challenge."
